In an investigation carried out
by the then higher security personnel it has been disclosed that in the year
2003 under the regime of the UNP government had handed over to the CIA a Al
Qaeda suspect.
It is learnt that this CIA
operation had been carried out on the instructions of the then President of the
USA George R.Bush’s intervention. It was under the then Prime Minister Ranil
Wickremasinghe, Minister Milinda Moragoda and the Defence Secretary Austin
Fernando this operation had taken place.
As the then President is also
not in her position it is now learnt that the suspect had been taken to an
unknown destination without any facts been known.
